The tourism industry is one of the strengths of the global economy. The recent few years, the industry is on track to develop, but suddenly, economic crisis happened, so it has reduced almost all industries worldwide. In particular, tourism is not immune from this rule.
However, despite the prolonged economic crisis, the world’s tourists are expected to reach the figure of one billion visitors in 2012.
On 12-Dec-2012, according to "The Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations (UN WTO), Mr. Taleb Rifai said: The tourism’s demand has reached record numbers in 2012, although, the economic difficulties have occurred.
In 2012, the number of European visitors (a region that is suffered by the crisis of the public debt) increased by 3%; Asian visitors increased by 7%. And, the number of visitors worldwide is increased by 4% in comparison with that situation in 2011.
The statistics show that, there is a strong recovery of the industrial "exhaust" of the world than its status in 2009 (this time took place the global financial crisis made the tourism decrease of 3.8%). The growth rate of the world tourism is 6.6% in 2010.
According to the UN WTO, in 2030, the number of the international tourists will reach 1.8 billion.
