Cat Ba Island is ranked national scenic

Cat Ba Island is one of the scenic beauties in Hai Phong province - Vietnam. Recently, on 25th Sep 2012, the department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong said the Ministry of “Culture, Sports and Tourism” has a decision to rank Cat Ba Island (in Cat Hai district, Hai Phong) is the national-level scenic spots.

This event is of great significance for the city of Hai Phong in National Tourism Year -2013 of the Red River Delta. At the same time, it is a local basis to continue to help implement the steps to UNESCO recognizes Cat Ba Island - Long Chau is the world's natural heritage.

This decision is also the basis for Hai Phong City to prepare for the complete submission to the Council of National Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Thereby, the Department will report to the Prime Minister issued the decision to rank beauty and landscapes of Cat Ba Island; here as well as special national relics.

Earlier, the National Heritage Council consists of 27 members met with the Committee of UNESCO Vietnam and the People's Committee of Hai Phong city. They approved dossiers for the submission to UNESCO for recognition of Cat Ba Island - Long Chau as the World Natural Heritage.

Council has assessed the quality and preparation. The construction of Hai Phong city records showed clear content to highlight the value of bio-diversity and natural values of Cat Ba Island - Long Chau.

National Heritage Council has adopted and records required to edit content on a number of points, and this before the Prime Minister for approval in time for the completion of the dossier to be submitted to UNESCO.
